TripAssist is an AI-powered travel companion feature built into tripspace.global. The AI persona within TripAssist is named Aria — a warm, feminine assistant modelled on the calm confidence of an air hostess. Aria is available 24/7 to help travellers with:
- Emergency assistance: nearest hospital, police, ambulance with GPS directions and tap-to-call phone numbers
- Local recommendations: restaurants, hair salons, shopping malls, activities nearby with ratings and maps links
- App navigation: step-by-step guidance to any feature or page on tripspace.global
- Photo translation: translate foreign signs, menus and documents by taking a photo
- Voice input: speak to Aria via microphone
- Flight and cab information: help finding transport
- Safety advice: area safety information, travel advisories
- Real-time Google Search: Aria uses live Google Search to find current movie listings, opening hours, events and more
Aria is powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash and Google Places API. She is role-aware — she gives different guidance to hosts, partners, affiliates and travellers. Aria is available as a floating widget on every page of tripspace.global and as a dedicated tab in the My Trips dashboard.

## SpaceChat — Internal Messaging
SpaceChat is the WhatsApp-style internal messaging system built into tripspace.global. Features include:
- Blue double-tick read receipts
- Online/last seen presence
- Voice notes (stored locally on device via IndexedDB)
- Travel-themed watermarks (planes, ships, trains, TG logo)
- Emoji picker
- Media stored locally on device — never on tripspace servers
- Google Drive backup (user owns their data)
- 30-day auto-purge of read messages

## TripGuard — AI Rental Car Damage Assessment
TripGuard is a free tool for all tripspace.global travellers. It uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash to analyse photos of a rental car and generate a professional 3-tier repair cost estimate (Economy, Mid-tier, OEM/Dealer). Supports 25+ countries and local currencies. Not insurance — an AI estimation tool for negotiation. Includes a damage map, part-by-part breakdown, red flags for inflated quotes and consumer rights guidance.

## DeviceGuard — GPS Phone Tracking
Optional paid service (R50/month) for travellers. User-activated GPS tracking — never passive. Ping your registered device to get its last known location. Uses device fingerprinting for device identification. POPIA and GDPR compliant.

## TripVerify — Host Verified Badge (Coming Soon)
TripVerify is an upcoming feature where hosts submit a video walkthrough of their property every 6 months. The video is uploaded to YouTube with a link to their tripspace.global listing. Admin reviews and approves. A verified badge then appears on the listing. Travellers can filter for verified hosts only. Pricing: R200/month. Renewal required every 6 months.

## Flight Search
tripspace.global includes a flight search feature powered by Skyscanner. Users enter airport codes, dates and passenger count and are directed to Skyscanner to view results and book. tripspace.global earns a referral fee on completed bookings. Available in the Flights tab of the My Trips dashboard.

## Cab Finder
After searching a destination, tripspace.global displays relevant ride-hailing apps for that country — including Uber, Bolt, inDrive, Careem, Lyft, DiDi, Grab, Gojek, Ola and more. Covers 50+ countries. Links open the relevant app or website. Free feature.
